Frank Voltz
Frank Voltz began playing the harp as an adult. After playing the harp for only five years, he competed and won second prize in the lever harp division of the Lyon & Healy International Pop and Jazz Competition. He has been guest clinician and performer at the Somerset Folk Harp Festival, Neosho River Harp Festival, Southeastern Harp Weekend, Beginning in the Middle Harp Seminar, Harp Gathering, Harp Feste, Harp Journeys, and Northern Lights Harp Festival.
In 2010, Frank was commissioned to write an arrangement for the American Youth Harp Ensemble. Since moving to Winston-Salem, N.C. in 2009, he has performed on several occasions with the Winston-Salem Symphony. He has recorded four CDs as a solo harpist, two CDs as a solo pianist, and has published many harp arrangements and original compositions for pedal and lever harp through Chiera Music, his publishing company (www.frankvoltz.com). Frank is Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Chapter of the American Harp Society.
